Wednesday night training session near Chepstow woods.
Distance: 9 Miles plus
Undulating track and off track bergen running. Each week we have new people and so we slowly increase each individuals mileage and weight. Some run clean fatigue and concentrate on a slow / steady paced run over hilly ground until they feel comfortable in starting to carry weight. Optional hill bergen and non bergen efforts and other evolutions. Great mid week training session to include build up training for UK events such as Fan Dance Race series, Test week marches, Commando 30 miler, Marathon de Sables.
Ivinghoe Beacon Fitness Day- Aylesbury
Distance: 15 miles
Location: Ivinghoe Beacon area near Aylesbury
Intensity: Basic to advanced
This day had emphasis on fitness and establishing peoples baseline. Working on handicapped weights and including tempo circuits of 1km and hill reps so people can establish where they need to add more emphasis to different areas of their training. Great day out, weather was superb. We stopped off for scoff and some lessons on first aid trauma care, orientation, nutrition and injury management.
Commando 30 Challenge
Distance; 30 Miles
Location: Dartmoor training area
Run By: Royal marine Commando
Raising over £1700 for charity causes Elite outdoor fitness entered two teams into this challenge. We entered about 4 months ago and Elite Outdoor fitness staff provided a training program and platform to work off. We also provided training weekends and days and access to Wednesday night Chepstow training sessions all of which were designed to increase capacity and progress fitness for the Commando 30 event. Our teams came in 1st and 2nd place and the 1st team also beat the long standing record. This is testament to the training that Elite outdoor fitness provides ensuring that more than 13 people were able to cross the line faster than anyone else on the day and some faster than its been done before as an event by a long way.
We will have teams being put forward for the event next year. Come and join us. All levels of fitness and plenty of time to train.

Fitness and Navigation Day- Brecon Beacons-Advanced level
Distance: 16 miles
Location: Brecon Beacons
Intensity: Advanced Level
This day had emphasis on Navigation for a small group of people with an advanced level of fitness and navigation. The ground was good going and this day was used specifically to Navigate from points A to B quickly and effectively using the terrain and contours to gain momentum and speed. Lead scout position changed throughout each leg to build confidence. Great day.
Fitness and Navigation Day
Distance: 14 miles
Location: Brecon Beacons
Intensity: Basic to Intermediate
This day had emphasis on Navigation for a group of about 9 people with all different levels of fitness. We had 2 DS which allowed us to split into two groups and finish the day with different speeds and durations. This caters for all levels of fitness. The ground was good going and the clag came in which was perfect for peoples confidence navigating with minimum visibility. We had one person that had never seen a compass before to people that had been navigating with Elite outdoor fitness for years, it was a great day.
Elan Valley Fitness day
Distance: 16 miles
Location: Elan Valley
This was a Slow/average paced session in Elan Valley which is renowned for bad wet boggy ground, moving over such ground at speed for long durations is extremely difficult. This is why it is the back bone of the beginning of special forces training because it weeds out the people that are not prepared. If you want to be quick and strong over the hills in all weathers Elan valley is a must!
Commando 30 Miler Dartmoor Training Recce

Two teams of 9 people have been put in for the Commando 30 miler race for Elite outdoor fitness.

Location Elan Valley
This was a fast paced session for more advanced and experienced people. Elan Valley is renowned for bad wet boggy ground, moving over such ground at speed for long durations is extremely difficult.
